We recently reported that the newer variant of 2014 hit handset, Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime has appeared on the benchmarking website, Geekbench. However, the website does not contain any major revelation regarding the specifications of the handset. Surprisingly, the handset has now turned up on another benchmarking website called GFXBench now and its all there for everyone to see. The listing on the GFXBench reveals major specifications of the handset and also confirms some of the speculations circulating on the Internet. Moreover, the frequent appearance of the handset on various websites also hints at the fact that the device is approaching its launch date. Taking a look at the specifications of the device, it can be safely assumed that Samsung will place it under INR 7,000 in India.
The listing reveals that the device will come running on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system and a MediaTek Quad-core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz. This is the first Samsung device to come in years with a MediaTek processor, which means Samsung might go all the way when it comes to competitively pricing the handset. The processor is accompanied by 2 GB of RAM, double the amount from its successor and 8 GB of internal storage. The camera setup has been retained from the previous Grand Prime viz. 8 Megapixels on rear panel and 5 Megapixels on the front. We cannot wait to see how Samsung price this new handset.
