This year there is an on-going debate as to whether the next Apple iPhone would be called iPhone 7 or iPhone 6 SE. The speculation was sparked by the appearance of the name iPhone 6 SE on the Internet. However, we believe that it is just the successor to the iPhone 5SE and not the main flagship. Recently, a series of images have turned up on the Internet that show the retail box of the rumoured iPhone SE and has revealed several major specifications of the handset. Apparently, the device would come only in one storage option viz. 64 GB. Moreover, along the lines of iPhone 5SE, we can expect the handset to feature the same features as that of iPhone 6 with the addition of 3D touch display and OIS module in the camera. If the handset is priced reasonable like its predecessor, it is sure to be hit with Indian buyers.
However, this news is to be taken with a pinch of salt as there are some discrepancies in the packaging and the image that do not make sense. One thing is for sure that the next Apple iPhone is expected to come out in the open during early September, this year. Several leaked images in the past has already shown what the upcoming handsets would look like with changed antenna lines and dual camera setup on the Apple iPhone 7 Plus. This is another reason to not believe that the upcoming Apple handset will be called iPhone 6 SE since the Plus version would then be called iPhone 6SE Plus. This does not goes well with the nomenclature pattern that is followed by Cupertino-based tech giant as it would be one too many device for a single generation of iPhone. All we can do right now is to wait for the Apple Special Event to lay our eyes on this year's flagship.
