Recently, we reported that a LG smartwatch has appeared on FCC and it was to come with Snapdragon Wear processor. The device has now been certified by Bluetooth as well according to a recent leak, which also clearly shows the model number of the device as well. While the name of the watch is not yet known, according to a source the brand has applied for a number of trademarks for names like Watch Style, Watch Pro, Watch Force, and Watch Sole. We can expect the device to be called any one of these. We already know that the device will come with the same circular design coined by the brand and metal body. It is also a known fact that LG is designing the smartwatch with Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor under the hood, for an enhanced performance. However, since then a lot of information has come to light.
For starters, the device will be running on the Android Wear 2.0 operating system, which has been optimised to perform optimally. One of the highlights of the new OS is that it comes with a dedicated Play Store for smartwatch specific apps, which is a nifty feature to have. Coming to the watch, this stainless steel device will come with IP67 rating, which means it is waterproof up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes as well as dust proof. The processor under the hood happens to be be 25 per cent more battery efficient then the last generation smartwatch and also comes with 3G/4G connectivity support. We can expect the smartwatch to make an entry on stage at the Mobile World Congress to be held at Barcelona this year.
