China just did something that it has been famous for in the past.
Their official censorship body just announced that Pokemon Go would not be releasing in the country due to 'security' reasons caused by the augmented reality aspect of the game.
Even if you manage to download the game from a foreign app store and use VPNs and what not to dodge censorship, it'll show you a blank map so long as you're in China.
A lot of Google services are already banned in the country, and it is only unlikely that China will make an exception for this game from Niantic.
The entire world has welcomed this refreshing upgrade of augmented reality into the mobile world, while China continues to look at it with a slight hint of suspicion.
