Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 series mobile processors are some of the most popular in the world, especially on flagship Android phones. While there are still a couple of months to go for the launch of the Snapdragon 865 processor, successor to Snapdragon 855 chipset, we already have a phone brand claiming the launch of the world's first phone with this processor. Here are the details.
Little-known luxury Chinese brand 8848 has gone ahead and announced the launch of the Titanium M6 5G, its latest smartphone that is powered by a Snapdragon 865, at least that's what the company claims. It also comes with several other flagship features including 1TB of storage, 12GB of RAM, a 64MP primary camera, and a 6-inch OLED panel.
However, since the processor isn't available yet, you won't be able to buy this smartphone anytime soon. In fact, some reports suggest the phone will be made available in China in early 2020, after the Snapdragon 865 launches in December this year. There are also no pricing details available for the model yet.
That said, brands like 8848 and Royole usually use this tactic to appear as the first brand to achieve these feats, despite their phones not being made available before a few months after. Major brands like Samsung, Xiaomi, and LG risk doing this because that will prevent their current models from selling in the market.
