DishTV plans have been revised by the Zee-owned DTH operator in accordance with new TRAI guidelines that mandate "freedom of choice" to consumers, giving them "direct control" on their monthly entertainment bill.
Indian government guidelines, which will come into effect from January 31, 2019, allow users to select their channels on an individual basis and pay for only those that they watch. Individual channel pricing on DishTV is on par with the official list released by TRAI. Most popular GEC channels like Star Plus, Colors, ZEE TV, and SAB TV are priced at Rs. 19 per month. News channels are mostly free in the revised list - however, you have to pay Re. 1 for India Today, Rs. 2 for Mirror Now, and NDTV 24X7 can be bought for Rs. 3 a month.
Like other DTH service providers, prices of individual channels on DishTV packs range between Rs. 0.25 and Rs. 19. English channels are available in the list, as are channels in regional languages including Assamese, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil, and Urdu.
DishTV has revealed pack pricing on its website. It has separate pack pricing for North, East, and West India and for South India. DishTV customer care number (toll free) 1800-258-3474 can be used for customer query redressal.

For the additional help of subscribers, DishTV has released Welcome North and Welcome South FTA (Free-To-Air) channels in the basic tier, allowing users to cut down on monthly expenses.
As per guidelines, Network Capacity Fee (NCF) for the first 100 channels is set at Rs. 130. An amount of Rs. 20 will be charged for every additional slab of 25 channels, if number of channels is 15 or more. And, Re. 1 per channel will be charged if the number of channels is less than 15.
One HD channel shall be treated equal to two SD channels for the purpose of calculating number of channels within the distribution network capacity subscribed. Standard lock-in period is 30 days.
