20-year old Narayan Lal Dhaker lost his father before being born, and his mother was the one who managed the 7.5-acre farm that his father left behind. But, when the young guy became a teenager, he realised that he needed to do something to help his family make enough money to live a comfortable life.
He joined his mother, to help her with farm work, at an early age, coming up with strategies to keep animals of his farm, increase farm yield, etc. All of these jugaads helped him and his mother improve their family income. Taking it a step further, Narayan created a YouTube page for all of his tips and tricks, according to The Better India.
Named "Adarsh Kisan Centre", this YouTube channel was started in 2017 and has since received more than 3 lakh subscribers till date. It also has more than 26 million views to its credit, all bootstrapped by Dhaker and his mom's efforts.
The Facebook page has more than 40,000 followers, where he motivates other farmers to fight for their rights, spreading awareness about things like subsidies, loans, and other government benefits.
He uses the money he makes from online businesses to invest into better farm equipment, thus setting up a decent online cottage industry for himself and his family. He shoots and edits all the videos on his humble smartphone, without the help of any external camera equipment or software.
