Five killer features of the upcoming Honor 10

The mid-range phone offers top notch features such as AI Camera, 3D lighting and bezel-less display amongst others

About a month after first announcing the phone in China, Huawei-owned smartphone brand Honor has finally brought the Honor 10 to the shelves. The phone had a global as well as an India launch today and will be available exclusively through Flipkart in the country.

The phone is expected to take on the likes of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 and the upcoming OnePlus 6. With powerful specs and a design inspired by Huawei's P20 Pro, the Honor 10 promises to be a phone you'd definitely want to own. But before you do that, here's a look at some of Honor 10's top features which make it stand out from the crowd:

AI Assistance for Camera

Much like the Huawei P20 Pro, the Honor 10 also integrates Artificial Intelligence into its camera app. The phone's solid 16MP+24MP rear camera holds the chops of identifying as many as 22 scene detection modes and 500 scenarios. All users will have to do is simply point their Honor 10 to whatever they wish to click and the camera will automatically adjust its settings using AI to produce unmatched results.

Fun, psychedelic colours

While white and black make up for standard colours in the smartphone industry, Honor has gone completely offbeat with the Honor 10. Since the company claims to have taken inspiration from the P20 Pro's design, aping its most visibly distinct feature was only natural. The Honor 10 boasts of a curved glass design at the back with a coating that changes colour, depending at the viewing angle of the phone and the amount of light falling on it. The phone will be available in two colour variants, Phantom Blue and Mirage Purple. For those wanting to play it safe, the phone will also be available in grey and black colours.

Studio-like effects on portraits with 3D Lighting

Though portrait mode has almost become a common feature amongst recent flagships, Honor 10 takes it a notch higher. Even after offering the phone on a mid-range budget, Honor brings in 3D lighting effects for the phone's portrait mode. A feature that found its way to high-end phones like iPhone X and Huawei's P20 Pro, it gives users lighting effects for an enhanced, studio-like effect on portraits.

Lightning fast processor performance

Considering the fact that Honor 10 claims to be a phone that has a lot to offer, a solid processor almost becomes a necessity. The Honor 10 features a Kirin 970 processor, that comes with a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU), along with AI capabilities which also assist in the desired camera output. Not just that, the company claims that it is because of the Kirin 970 that Honor 10 will be able to process high-quality image effects two times faster than the iPhone X.

Larger display with a 19:9 aspect ratio

While the Honor 10's rear is all about colour and pop, the company keeps the front quite classy, to say the least. The phone features a notch which results in a larger display with a 19:9 aspect ration. The Honor 10 has a beautiful 5.84-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with resolution of 1080 pixels by 1228 pixels. In order to keep the display safe, Huawei has also put Gorilla Glass v5 protection on the phone.

In addition to these stellar features, the Honor 10 offers 6GB RAM, 64 and 128GB storage variants and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of box. The phone also features a 24MP front camera, facial recognition, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Keeping it all going is a 3400mAh battery with quick charging support.

The Honor 10 will be available on Flipkart starting midnight of 16 May 2018.
