After introducing new features for Android, WhatsApp has finally rolled these features out with the 2.17.40 version update for iPhone users as well. The new update version brings many new features to WhatsApp on iPhone. iPhone users will now be able to pin chats on the app now. Along with that, they’ll also be able to share files of all types and delete shared pictures in one go.

The Pinned Chats feature enables users to pin their favourite chats to the top of the chat screen in the app. The feature was tested in beta for a month on Android, after which it was officially added to the app’s update on Android. To use the pin feature, iPhone users will have to swipe right and the option to pin chats will appear next to the ‘Unread’ option. Users can pin upto three chats on top of their chat screens.

WhatsApp enabled the option to send files of any type on Android last week, now iPhone users too can share files of any type on the app. Earlier, the app allowed users to select only a few particular types of files to be shared. Users can now share their desired files how they shared files earlier,  by choosing the ‘Share’ option.

The new photo bundling feature on WhatsApp bundles up images sent one after the other. Now with the new update, users will now be able to delete several images altogether, instead of having to choose one image after the other in order to delete them. To delete a number of images, users will have to hold the photo album bundled together and tap on the ‘Delete All’ option.

Rumours are also doing rounds that a new exciting feature might be added to the app soon. Apparently, WhatsApp has been trying to be able to play YouTube videos without having to exit the app. The feature, if tested successfully will be available for everyone pretty soon.

To get the latest update in WhatsApp, users can go to the App Store and update their app.
