Jaguar makes some of the most powerful and sexiest sedans in the world, but the company wants to be serious about its SUVs for a change. After the launch of its first-ever SUV, the F-Pace, last year, the carmaker has now announced its first compact SUV, the E-Pace.
The E-Pace is a result of years of research that Jaguar put in to make sure the first one is the best one. Its design is evidently borrowed from the older brother, F-Pace, and the windows remind you of the Jaguar F-Type coupe as well. Aimed at the young professionals, the E-Pace has been designed to look fun yet powerful.
The E-Pace range will be available in five variants – three diesel variants (150PS, 180PS and 240PS) and two petrol variants (250PS and 300PS). All the variants will be coupled with either a 9-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual, and the top-end models will also have four-wheel drive powertrain. The E-Pace boasts a top speed of 243kmph with it going from 0-100kmph in 6.4 seconds.
The car is expected to come to India by the end of 2018 and it will compete in the sub-Rs 50 lakh segment with the likes of Audi Q5, BMW X3, and Volvo XC60.
