Celebrating their 30th anniversary in China, the global chicken chain KFC is launching its own limited edition smartphone in the country. The phone comes with a shiny, bright red casing along with the iconic Colonel Sanders logo at the back.
This phone has been created in partnership with Chinese electronics giant Huawei, who are also coincidentally celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. Their brand logo also features on the body of the phone along with the date 1987, the year KFC came to China.
Ogilvy & Mather-Shanghai are working on KFC’s 30th anniversary campaign. They announced the news of the phone via their WeChat China account. The smartphone will have the KFC app pre-installed in it, plus there's also a cool new music feature that lets you pick the songs you want to hear on the speakers at any KFC restaurant in China.
Only 5000 units of the KFC Huawei 7 Plus model will be sold and users will be able to purchase them on KFC’s mobile app and also from their flagship Tmall store.
