A couple of years ago dual camera setup was cutting edge and something we would usually see on the premium smartphones. Fast forward to today, the dual camera setup has become default for even budget smartphones. This year we saw smartphones like the Galaxy A7 that offered triple cameras at the rear. Today Samsung pulled the wraps from the Samsung Galaxy A9 2018, the first smartphone with a quad camera setup at the rear. Let us walk you through all the new features that the Samsung Galaxy A9 2018 has to offer.
The quad camera setup on the Samsung Galaxy A9 2018 is the most interesting aspect of the device. Samsung has fitted a 24-megapixel main sensor with a 5-megapixel depth sensor, a 10-megapixel telephoto lens, and lastly an 8-megapixel 120-degree ultra-wide lens. In other words, Samsung has ensured that you have all the lens you would ever need on a smartphone. At the front, the Samsung Galaxy A9 2018 comes equipped with a 24-megapixel selfie camera. The background blurring algorithm will put you and your friends in the spotlight by blurring out the background.
The Scene Optimizer mode uses the rear camera setup to detect the subject in the frame. Once detected the mode than chooses from twenty different modes like flowers, and food in order to enhance your picture.
Flaw Detection is an intelligent feature that is here to put an end to closed eyes and blurred photos. The Face Detection informs you of the blinks, blurs, smudged lenses, and backlighting. With this feature in place, you can reshoot immediately and ensure that the picture is flawless.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 2018 users can devour the camera goodness via the 6.3-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with sharper contrast and dynamic color. Additionally, the device also offers “Always On Display” which will show all the important notification and other information on the lock screen without guzzling up the battery life. The device is relatively light at 183 grams and the 7.8mm thickness is expected to contribute to positive ergonomics.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 2018 retains the quintessential Samsung design language, however, the A9 is treated to a couple of design quirks that are worth mentioning. The front facade is primarily occupied by the edge-to-edge Super AMOLED display while the rear is pretty sleek with a small fingerprint sensor and a camera strip that houses the quad sensors. The 3D rear glass back imparts a premium look and the Samsung Galaxy A9 2018 is available in Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue, and Bubblegum Pink colors.
Thankfully Samsung has baked in an impressive set of hardware for the Galaxy A9 2018. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 paired with 6GB of RAM. On the storage front the device offers 128GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 512GB via the microSD card slot.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 2018 is backed by a 3,800mAh battery. Despite the glass back the device doesn't support wireless charging, however, on the brighter side it does support fast charging. All said and done the 3,800mAh battery should ideally power the device for more than a day.
