Latest Questions about HTC Mobiles

What is the Blinkfeed on HTC smartphones? I do not want it, can it be turned off?

The Taiwanese handset maker is known for skinning the stock Android operating system with its own HTC Sense UI. One of the highlight of the Sense UI is the Blinkfeed that can be accessed by swiping right from the left edge on the homescreen. Before starting the device setup, it asks you to enter your Facebook, Instagram and other social media details, and then put them all together in a collective feed. This way you get all your social media updates in one place, which is very convenient for social media lovers. However, if you do not wish to have the Blinkfeed, do not add anything to it and it would not get activated.

Should I go for an HTC smartphone?

HTC handsets have always been relevant owing to their class leading design, audio output and cameras. If you are looking for a device that is high on multimedia factor, clicks great pictures and have looks to die for, HTC devices are a way to go. However, if you are on a limited budget, there are very few handsets in its Desire range that are actually good - I mean what they offer overall in that price. It all depends on your budget and requirements. You can go for any HTC mobile above Rs. 20,000. You’ll never regret owning any of the flagships like HTC 10 that comes with world’s first dual Optical Image Stabilization for great front and back photos.

Are HTC devices good choice compared to Samsung or Apple?

Having seen a slump in 2015, HTC has made a good comeback this year with its newest flagship and has been able to stand up against bigwigs like Samsung and Apple. It is a no brainer that iPhones are the best devices when it comes to performance and user experience, however, they are not the best looking anymore. Samsung and HTC beat Apple in design and aesthetics with HTC 10 and Samsung Galaxy S7. When it comes to the resale value and market standing, HTC loses out to the big league players like Samsung and Apple. However, if you are someone who appreciated well made devices and would not be selling their handsets anytime soon, HTC smartphones are a good bet. However, the brand is not comparable to the recent crop of Samsung flagship devices from Galaxy S Series and Apple is a whole different ball game.

What is UltraPixel Camera on HTC Flagship devices? Are they better than normal cameras?

One of the best feature of early HTC flagship devices has been the UltraPixels camera marketed by the brand and they churned out some pretty impressive images. HTC claimed that these cameras, which were actually just 4 Megapixels technically speaking, but have pixels with double the micron size. Simply speaking they took in double the amount of light and significantly improved the whole color reproduction and quality of the image. However, they also lost out on details and which is why these days they are limited to being front cameras on new flagship handsets.

Are HTC handsets compatible with Reliance Jio Network?

Almost every handset, that comes with support for 4G LTE and has integrated VoLTE support can support JIO ideally. As such a number of HTC devices come with inherent support for the Reliance JIO out of the box. If you are worried whether or not the handset you own or plan to, support JIO or not, you can head over to the official website of Reliance Jio and check if your handset is supported or not. By default, the flagships and mid-range HTC devices are supported by the network.
