Latest Questions about Intex Mobiles

How is performance on Intex Aqua 5.5 VR and which custom UI is used?
This handset has almost stock user interface with visual changes from the brand. The device is powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad Core Mediatek processor with 1 GB of RAM, so the performance is pretty decent if not exemplary.
Do Intex mobiles offer value for money? I am looking for a decent budget phone.
Most of the Intex mobiles are for individuals with tight budget who want to get the best out of their investment. In case you are looking for handsets that are in the range of INR 5,000 to 6000, Intex handsets might provide decent value for money. However, do bear in mind, while the specs might be decent, build quality may not be, which is a deal breaker for many. Also, if you are looking for a handset in the bracket of INR 10,000 or so, it would make more sense to go for brands like Motorola, Xiaomi, LeEco and Lenovo. These brands have some of the best budget smartphones with great build and decent performance. As for the mid range devices from Intex, there are much better alternatives available in that range.
How are Firefox OS handsets launched by Intex?
Intex is one of the very few handset makers in India that has launched a smartphone running on the Firefox OS viz. Cloud FX. This handset is a very basic device that comes with support only for 2G network, therefore, it should not be considered for a daily use device. However, there are some pros to Cloud FX, which makes it a good handset for new users. To begin with, it does not need an email id to run, is easy to operate, supports all social media platforms, uses very less data and provides a longer battery life. Though, there is no WhatsApp support directly but can be used through a third party app.
Are Intex mobiles good for day to day use?
This depends completely on your usage and how extensively do you plan to use the smartphone. In case you are a heavy gamer and rely on your smartphone to watch movies or stream videos, Intex devices are bound to disappoint you. Also, those who are looking for a primary handset, which they are going to use for everything from social media to work purpose, should stay away from the Intex handsets. On the other hand, if you are looking for a device that would be used as secondary handset and will be used mainly for calls / SMS, then Intex does make sense.
Is it true that Intex devices are imported from China?
Yes, it is true that the Indian handset maker imports most of its handset lineup from China. The first and foremost reason behind this happens to be the fact that the parts and labor in China is much lower than it is anywhere around the globe, even India. And Intex is a brand that specialises in ultra-affordable smartphones with comparable features. Therefore, to be able to keep the cost in check, Intex imports the entry-level handsets from China. However, the handset maker does have a manufacturing plant in country, where it manufactures its top of the line handsets.
