British carmaker Morris Garages, popularly known as MG Motor, has unveiled its first car for the Indian market. Called the MG Hector iSMART Next Gen, this smart car is dubbed the first "internet car of India" and has been made in collaboration with tech companies including Microsoft, Adobe, SAP, Cisco, Gaana, TomTom, and more.
The MG Hector iSMART Next Gen sports a 10.4-inch display placed in the front, which allows the driver to control everything in the car. For instance, you can use touch or voice commands to configure various toggles. Users can also access entertainment content on this Head display. It is built for extreme weather conditions, according to the company.
Apart from that, MG Hector iSMART Next Gen comes with an embedded M2M sim that ensures that the car remains connected at all times. The connected mobility solution on the MG Hector is Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPV6) ready for 5G.
Yet another feature of the MG Hector is Voice Assist. It is a powerful voice application that works on the cloud and head unit, and has been specifically designed for India for Indian accent learning. Activated with ‘Hello MG’, the voice assist allows over 100 commands, including opening and closing windows and sunroof, AC control, navigation, and works even under poor connectivity.
MG Hector with iSMART Next Gen technology will go on sale in India in June this year. Check out all the features here.
