The year 2017 marks the 10 year anniversary for Cupertino-based tech giant, Apple, and it is planning to go big this time around. The iPhone 8 from the brand this year is the 10th year anniversary edition and pushes all the limits even for Apple. The most expensive iPhone till date from the brand, the iPhone 8 marks a lot of firsts for the brand. Here is why you should or should not buy the iPhone 8.
Why should you buy?
Bezel-less all display front
Apple has never been the one to follow the trends in market, but this time around it seems to be doing just that. The handset maker is the latest to join the all display smartphone trend with the iPhone 8. This device is more in line with the Essential Ph1 than with Galaxy S8 and the likes. The whole front panel of the device flaunts the Retina display with a narrow cutout on the top to accommodate the earpiece, sensors and the front camera. This lends an even more premium factor to an already premium device.
Dual camera module
We have already seen what Apple can achieve through a dual camera module, in iPhone 7 Plus, which till date remain to be one of the best cameras in the smartphone industry. This time around as well, the brand will equip the iPhone 8 with dual 12MP camera module with OIS and Quad tone LED flash. If the previous record of Apple in optics is anything to go by, we can expect iPhone 8 to break some serious records.
Ease of using iOS
It goes without saying that when it comes to the ease of usage and smoothness, there is nothing that beats Apple’s iOS. The upcoming Apple iPhone 8 is slated to come with the newest iOS 11, which happens to be the most refined version of the operating system till date. There are several major changes in the iOS including a revamped App Store, improved SIRI, better design elements and control center.
Loaded spec sheet
Apple iPhones are always a loaded affair as far as the spec sheet is concerned and iPhone 8 being the 10th anniversary variant, is expected to be the best of the lot. The device will feature the latest SoC from the brand along with 4GB of RAM. Together with a brilliant hardware and software combination, the handset is expected to be one of the most powerful devices around.
Why should you not buy?
Non expandable storage
One of the biggest grievances that Apple users have is that the brand tends to launch its handsets without expandable storage. While the iPhones these days come with ample storage starting from 64GB to 256GB, it is always nice to have an option to be able to expand the storage when need be.
Admit it or not, we are living in a time when every other person is rocking either two SIMs or more, with one or more phones. While we understand that Apple’s niche market is usually limited to elite class, who are primarily single SIM users, it does not harm to give the option. Even Samsung was quick to realise this and offers its flagship handsets with Hybrid SIM slots these days.
There is no denying the fact that Apple iPhone 8 is one of the best smartphones available in the market. However, the price tag of the device puts it out of the reach of a lot of common buyers. If you have the budget for it, there is not a better smartphone.
