The Taiwanese handset maker, HTC is all set to launch the toned down variant of the flagship U11, called HTC U11 Life. The device comes with the same design aesthetic and retains several features as well. While the flagship comes with some innovative features, the U11 Life is a perfect mid-range smartphone with latest features. Moreover, the U11 Life is expected to be an Android One device, which means it willcome with the newest and stock Android OS. Here is a lowdown on the pros and cons of the handset.
Why should you buy?
The Taiwanese handset maker has equipped the new smartphone with IP67 rating for durability. This means that the device is completely dust-proof and can survive a dip into the water upto certain time without dying. This is a nifty feature to have since smartphones are mostly prone to damages and IP67 brings a peace of mind.
Powerful camera duo
The Taiwanese handset maker is known to manufacture devices with cameras that are ahead of the age, case in point the Ultrapixel camera on HTC One M7 and dual camera on the HTC One M8. Therefore it comes as no surprise that the cameras on HTC U11 Life are designed to impress. The front and rear panel of the handset houses 16-megapixel camera each, which along with the software improvements from the brand deliver a much better imaging experience compared to others.
We have already mentioned that the handset is being developed under the Android One program of Google. What this means is that the handset device will come flaunting the latest Android Nougat operating system in its stock avatar. Moreover, the handset will also receive the upcoming Android Oreo update as well ahead of other brands.
The HTC U11 Life comes with the Snapdragon 660 processor mated to 4GB of RAM at its core. While it does sound dated against the likes of SD 835 and others. However, that is not the case since the SD660 is the newest launch from the brand in the mid-tier and is designed to deliver commendable performance.
Why should you not buy?
While the device comes loaded with specs and can perform efficiently from day to day, there is very little support from the battery as it comes equipped with a small 2,600mAh battery. It is a given that during the course of a day, you are bound to run out of charge atleast once.
The reputation of Taiwanese handset maker precedes it and with Android One coming on-board, we can safely say that HTC U11 Life is one of the better devices in the market. With stock Android and loaded spec sheet, the smartphone does make for a compelling buy.
