The Chinese handset maker, Huawei is going big guns in the Indian handset market with couple of new launches in the budget segment. Recently the brand launched a new all metal budget segment smartphone called Honor 5X in India, which hogged all the limelight for all the right reasons. However, the brand launched another smartphone, which lost the spotlight to the Honor 5X. This handset was the budget handset called Huawei Honor Holly 2, which comes with decent specifications and build quality. This is a brief overview of Honor Holly 2 to introduce the handset to our readers.
Design
This particular handset from the brand is not as premium as Honor 5x, however, it offers the standard budget parameters. Honor Holly 2 is a simpleton smartphone with a polycarbonate make and bar form factor, which is pretty standard. However, the rear panel of the device features crisscross diamond patterned finish that elevates its aesthetics.
Display
Huawei has equipped the new smartphone with a modest 5-inch display that is good for multimedia and gaming. There is a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels offered by the display that makes it enjoyable to watch HD content on this handset.
User Experience
Huawei has launched the new smartphone with the last generation Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system pre-installed in it. Android Lollipop already comes with a set of enhancements, which is further enhanced by Huawei's EMUI, which adds other enhancements over and above those that come with the stock.
Performance and Battery Life
The handset comes prepared to offer a decent performance as it has been bestowed with a Quad-core processor that has been clocked at 1.3 GHz. It also has a commendable RAM of 2 GB to ensure that the processor is performing optimally. The 4000 mAh battery under the rear panel of the handset is the real plus of this smartphone.
Camera Technology
Huawei Honor Holly 2 comes with a decent 13 MP camera on its rear panel for impressive day to day photography. The front panel of the handset also houses a 5 MP camera that would be good for clicking selfies.
Connectivity
The dual-SIM smartphone comes with support for both 4G LTE and 3G out of the box for the benefit of its users. It also comes with other connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, microUSB, Bluetooth and GPS.
Verdict
Huawei launched a much better device with a slightly higher price tag along with Honor Holly 2, which turns out to be a folly. For a couple of 1000 bucks, we personally would not suggest opting for a lesser device that is missing the premium metal design as well as a fingerprint scanner. However, if you cannot spare a couple of thousand bucks, this handset can be an ideal choice.
