The Indian bred handset maker, Intex has never been the first brand to come to mind when anybody is looking for a handset. However, it cannot be refuted that when it comes to budget segment market is dominated by the likes of Micromax, Intex and Lava to name a few. Like every other budget smartphone maker, Lava has been trying to up its game for a while now. The brand has now launched a new device called Lava X41 Plus, which has been placed under INR 10,000. While there is nothing out of ordinary in this handset, it makes for a great secondary handset. Here is a brief overview of the handset for those who might be looking for a device to use as spare.
Air Gestures: One of the best feature of this handset is as brand like to advertise, to be able to operate without touching the handset. It comes with something called Air Gestures, where the user only has to swipe his hand over the display in any direction to perform any task like hover and swipe up to open music player, right for camera and left for gallery.
Corning Gorilla Glass display with 2.5D glass: The display on this handset is a 5-inch unit with a resolution of 720p. However, the feel of the display comes from the corning gorilla glass 2 layer with 2.5D curve.
No Fingerprint Scanner: To have a smartphone in a competitive price segment and not have the basic features is a blasphemy. There are many devices in this bracket that comes with a fingerprint scanner on rear or front panel. It is better to go for these handsets than Lava X41 Plus to be future-proof.
Poor cameras: Lava has equipped the new handset with an 8 Megapixels snapper on the rear panel and 5 Megapixels on the front. There are handsets at the same price that comes with 16/13 Megapixels snapper viz. Redmi Note 3 and Redmi 3S Prime.
