Lenovo is a Chinese handset manufacturer that has been around for a while and has established itself. With the onset of huge festive season in Indian handset market, the brand is now gearing up to launch a number of smartphones in the country to tap the occasion. Now the handset maker is all set to launch its latest entry level smartphone called A1000 in the Indian smartphone market. This is a brief overview of the handset to help our readers make up their mind.
The Lenovo A1000 is an entry level handset and as such it does not score high on the aesthetics front. This handset from the Chinese handset manufacturer comes with a simplistic bar form factor and polycarbonate make for a comfortable hold.
Being an entry level handset, this device comes with a simple and small 4-inch display that is not quite ideal for heavy multimedia viewing. The resolution offered by the device is pegged at 800 x 480 pixels, which is ideal given the display size but slightly dulls the colour reproduction as well as day light visibility.
The user experience offered is one aspect in which Lenovo A1000 aces as despite being an entry level smartphone it comes with one of the latest Android OS. Lenovo has launched the A1000 smartphone with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system out of the box. This is a huge plus considering that most devices in this price range come with Android 4.4 Kitkat version.
Performance and Battery Life
Lenovo has equipped the handset with a Quad-core processor that boasts of a clock speed of 1.3 GHz and is quite commendable for an entry level handset. Moreover, the processor is accompanied by a good RAM of 1 GB, which ensures the consistency of the performance. Also, the handset has been equipped with a 2050 mAh battery that easily lasts a whole day on a single charge.
Lenovo has equipped the A1000 smartphone with a modest 5 mp camera on its rear panel that gets the job done if you are not into extensive photography. The handset also comes with a front facing camera , however, the snapper only comes with 0.3 megapixels of resolution.
On the connectivity front, the handset comes with support for Dual-SIM support out of the box. For high speed Internet browsing, the handset maker has given a miss to 4G LTE and has opted for 3G instead, which is not much behind 4G LTE in terms of speed. Other options on the handset include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and microUSB.
If there is one thing that the brand has made clear with the launch of A1000, it is the fact that this handset is not here to compete but to cater to Indian masses. Lenovo A1000 smartphone comes with decent specifications and look that will certainly appeal to rural Indian masses.
