The Indian handset market was revolutionised by Reliance when it launched the new telecom brand Jio and offered dirt cheap VoLTE and 4G connectivity. However, since there were not many handsets in the market with integrated support for VoLTE, Reliance came up with its own brand of smartphones called Lyf. These handsets gave Indian users good features in very low price and came with support for JIO network, out of the box. Now the handset maker has launched a new device called LYF Water 9, which is a budget handset with decent specifications. If you are looking at this one for your next device, here is a brief overview of the handset.
Gesture Control: One of the highlights of Lyf Water 9 is the elaborate support for various gestures for performing different tasks. One of the best feature is to be able to browse through gallery, take pictures, unlock your phone and scroll through apps launcher by just hovering your hand over it. There is also support for float gestures to quickly access apps, toggles and different modes. There are also gestures to unlock handset to a particular app, unlock and lock the handset by simply drawing on the display.
Fingerprint scanner: This has become one of the staple feature for all handsets that are being launched in the market now. LYF Water 9 too comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, which not only makes the handset secure but can register upto 5 fingers and can be used for app encryption.
2.5D curved Asahi Dragontrail Display: LYF Water 9 smartphone has been equipped with a 5.5-inch display that boasts of a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The brand has equipped the display with 2.5D curved Asahi Dragontrail glass layer for durability, which is a plus.
Intelligent Power saver: It is quite irksome when you are doing an important task on your device and are thrown off with a battery low notification. Lyf 9 has a solution in form of Intelligent Power Save, which can be activated when the battery is low to get some more life out of the remaining juice.
Build Quality: One of the drawbacks of having a budget smartphone is that the build quality does not feel premium when held in hand. The same issue lingers in Lyf 9, however, the handset has been designed to be beautiful with metallic finish.
