For those of us who thought that since Microsoft has acquired the mobile division of Nokia, the brand has ceased to exist, we could not be any more wrong. The Finnish handset maker launched its first ever Nokia branded Android tablet called Nokia N1 in November 2014. Now the speculations are riff that Nokia is working on an Android smartphone as well and recently few leaked images surfaced on the World Wide Web, which confirmed the speculations. The device is being called Nokia C1 and here is a brief overview of the handset.
Gesture based Z Launcher: It is to be expected that the new handset from Nokia would come with the same launcher and interface that was seen in the Nokia N1. This launcher is a unique take of Nokia on Android and comes with gesture support. Users can draw pattern on the display to launch certain apps or perform certain tasks.
Intel Atom processor: It is expected that the all new Nokia handset would come featuring an Intel Atom processor. While, no other dteail about the processor is known yet, we can expect the handset to be a decent performing device. In all likelihood, the processor would be a Quad-core unit with a clock speed in the range of 1.5-1.8 GHz. Moreover, it is expected that it will feature 1 GB of RAM for a consistency in performance.
Latest Android: As and when the handset comes out, it is expected to feature the latest Android available at the moment. Since it is being speculated that the handset will come out in 2017, we can safely assume that it will have Android Nougat running on it.
Not sure whether or not it will come: While this handset certainly looks quite promising and is one of the most awaited handset, there is no telling when this handset would be coming.
