It seems now that the South Korean handset maker, Samsung is finally keeping pace with the trends in smartphone industry. The brand has now launched a new handset called J3 Pro, which is an online exclusive device and a first for Samsung. This handset has been manuafctured under Make for India initiative by the brand and comes with India-specific features. Here is a brief overview of the handset for those who are looking for a good budget smartphone.
Ultra Data Saving: This is a very useful feature, which happens to be proprietary to the South Korean brand. Samsung has designed this feature for netizens, who are always browsing the web and exploring social media. UDS compresses the incoming and outgoing data packets to save on data consumption, which is a handy feature.
S-Bike mode: This feature has been developed keeping in mind the safety of two-wheeler riding population of India, which is massive. When activated, this features does not let calls get through and plays a greeting informing caller that the user is currently riding so cannot attend. However, is the call is important, caller can choose to bypass but then the handset will only let the user pick call when it detects that the vehicle has stopped. This is a very useful feature indeed in an accident prone country like ours.
Super AMOLED display: This is a no brainer given that Samsung is known for equipping its handsets with AMOLED display. The Super AMOLED display on the J3 Pro makes for a less battery hungry and sharper display for the viewing pleasure of its users.
Dated software: One of the biggest drawback that any smartphone can possibly have is to have two generations old operating system. And this is exactly the same mistake that Samsung has committed with the J3 Pro. The handset comes with the dated Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system, which is not much revered anymore.
Plastic build: This has been the only grievance of Samsung users since years and finally the brand has started making beautiful glass and metal smartphones. However, since this one is an entry level device, we cannot expect it to have the same stunning design.
