The South Korean handset maker Samsung is mainly known for its flagship S series and phablet series, Galaxy Note. Right from its inception through Galaxy Note, the series has been a roaring success for the brand till the last Galaxy Note 5. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was one of the best handsets to come from the brand and features the new design philosophy adopted by Samsung with non removable battery and non expandable storage. Now, the handset maker has gone ahead and announced the Galaxy Note 7, which is yet to arrive in stores. Here is a brief overview of all that is known about the upcoming phablet at this point.
Dual curved display: It has now been confirmed that the Galaxy Note 7 comes with the same dual-curved display as found on Edge smartphones. It comes with the same set of features for the dual curved edges, which made Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S7 Edge quite popular. This time around, Galaxy Note 7 allows users to assign different tasks like contacts, apps and other shortcuts.
Iris Scanner: This is the first smartphone ever that comes with a proper Iris scanner on the front panel. However, this is not like those eye scanners, which used the front camera to unlock the handset and most of the time failed to do so. Samsung has equipped the Note 7 with dedicated Iris sensor on the top left, which means it can unlock the handset even if you are wearing shades or contact lenses.
Fingerprint Scanner: However, for those who do not want to use the Iris Scanner, the trusted fingerprint scanner is still there on the front home button. The fingerprint scanner is the same one from its other flagship devices, so you can expect it to be fast and accurate.
USB Type C: This smartphone from the South Korean handset maker finally comes with the much needed USB Type-C connector. This means that the device supports fast charging and data transfer by default.
Water-resistant Stylus: Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has to be the first ever smartphone that can be operated under water as well. Samsung has increased the pressure sensitivity so that the device can be operated under the water as well using the integrated stylus.
Might be too big for some: This is a common issue that plagues every Galaxy Note series handset since the day one. Samsung Galaxy Note 7 comes with a massive 5.7-inch display that might not suit everyone.
