Croma | SONY XPERIA XZ PREMIUM (DEEP SEA BLACK, 64GB) MOBILE PHONE | Rs. 59,990 |
This year Mobile World Congress saw the Japanese handset maker, Sony, launch some of its best smartphone so far. The brand launched couple of devices in its X series, including XZs and XZ Premium, out of which latter is the flagship device of the brand for the calendar year 2017. The handset comes with the same Omnibalance design, which we have seen in the previous launches by the brand and an impressive spec sheet. However, this handset is not for those who prefer budget devices as it has been positioned as high end smartphone. Here is a brief overview of the handset for those who would like to get their hands on one.
First smartphone with a 4K HDR display: This is the unimaginable feat that Sony has managed to achived with its flagship device this year. Xperia XZ Premium comes with the same resolution of display that Sony offers on its LED television. This means, high resolution graphics and multimedia files would look brilliant on 5.5-inch 4K display, which means a pixel density of whooping 801 ppi.
IP65/68 rating and Corning Gorilla Glass 5: The other highlighted feature of the handset is that it comes with the IP65/68 rating. This means that in case you are caught in rain or accidentally drop your device in a puddle, it will be able to survive that. Moreover, the handset is also dust-resistant, making it pretty durable for day to day usage.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor: This is the first ever smartphone to feature the latest Snapdragon 835 processor. Which means that the handset is the most powerful device in the market at the moment. The Snapdragon 835 processor is an Octa-core unit clocked at 1.5 GHz and coupled with 4 GB of RAM, so we can be assured that the performance is best in class.
Motion Eye Camera: his is the feature that has been highlighted excessively by the brand at MWC and for all the right reasons. Two features that has been publicised by the brand is the super slow motion video capturing at 960 FPS, which is quite unheard of and is being dubbed as the best camera feature by the brand. Second intriguing feature is Predictive Capture, which means that camera can detect the scene and if there is a perfect capture, it will click the picture if you do not click it. This is a pretty useful feature as it might produce some of the best candid images.
DSEE HX: There are smartphone users, who get their music fix on their device and if the handset could produce amazing audio, it is a winner. While the handset comes with support for Hi-Res audio, it also has a new technology called DSEE HX that amplifies low resolution audio and provide enhanced audio.
It is a high end device: While there is no cons with the handset per se, it would still not sit well with many buyers in country. This is plainly because the device is a high-end flagship smartphone and Indian buyers cannot justify such hefty price tag for a smartphone. Apart from this, Sony has managed to manufacture a perfect smartphone in all aspect.
