Xiaomi Redmi 5A is a low-priced smartphone but packs features which make it stand ahead of some of the pricier phones in its segment. This device is the successor to the Redmi 4A and retains all its features with a lot of additions and improvements. It is an excellent smartphone to buy if you are low on budget but do not want to compromise on the core features. Here’s a brief overview of what it brings and what it misses to help you out with your decision.
Value for money: The one thing that sets the Redmi 5A apart from all other smartphones in this segment is the value for money that it offers. The kind of specification you get for the price is simply impressive.
Good configuration: The Xiaomi Redmi 5A comes with a 1.4GHz Cortex A53 processor seated upon Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 MSM8917 chipset. The processor is coupled with 2GB RAM which can be termed decent considering the price. For graphics, the device has an Adreno 308 GPU.
HD display and premium design: The Xiaomi Redmi 5A features a 5-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels (HD). Just like the Redmi 4A, this one also comes with a plastic body but with an improved and more premium design. The device is available in three different colour options such as - Platinum Silver, Champagne Gold, Rose Gold.
Excellent cameras: A 13MP rear camera is present which can capture decent images and record Full HD videos. It also has the HDR mode and phase detection autofocus features. A 5MP front camera has also been provided to take selfies and make video calls.
Hybrid SIM card slot: The smartphone comes with a hybrid SIM card slot, which means you can use either two SIM card or one SIM card along with a memory card.
Smaller battery: The Redmi 4A was launched with a 3,120mAh battery, which has slightly been downgraded as the Redmi 5A ships with a 3,000mAh battery. However, the company claims that the smartphone offers a better battery backup in comparison to its predecessor.
