Unveiled first at the Mobile World Congress this year, HMD Global has launched the Nokia 8110 4G 'Banana' phone in India for Rs. 5,999. It will start selling later this month in Banana Yellow and Traditional Black colour options. Inspired by the original 8110, the dual-SIM Nokia 8110 4G still features the legendary slider and the "slide to answer" and "slide to cancel" functionality. Plus the snake game is still there, in a revamped avatar.
Nokia 8110 4G comes with 2.45-inch QVGA (240x320 pixels) curved screen display and is powered by a 1.1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 205 SoC, coupled with 512MB of LPDDR3 RAM and 4GB of inbuilt storage (expandable via microSD card). It runs on KaiOS (same as Jio Phone) and can be used to access apps like WhatsApp, YouTube and few other Google ones.
In the camera department you just get a 2MP rear snapper with LED flash, the feature phone doesn’t house a selfie shooter. In terms of connectivity there’s G VoLTE with hotspot, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, a Micro-USB port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Battery wise, the Nokia 8110 4G sips juice from a 1,500mAh battery, which claims to deliver up to 9 hours of talk-time on VoLTE. You can purchase it from authorised Nokia partners both online and offline starting October 24th.
