OnePlus TV is the upcoming innovation from the Chinese electronics brand's launch slate. Known only for launching mobiles and accessories, OnePlus is now looking to expand its horizons and getting into the home appliances industry. With launch scheduled less than a month from now, on September 26, here is a quick roundup of what features we can expect from the OnePlus TV - including what has been confirmed and what all is rumoured.
The OnePlus TV sports a 55-inch QLED panel, which shouts premium. OnePlus has already confirmed that it would not be looking to compete with the likes of Xiaomi and Vu, and would be pricing the television to compete with premium manufacturers like Samsung and Sony. The QLED panel will be coupled with Dolby Vision technology.
As for audio, OnePlus TV has been confirmed to feature 8 speakers with a total audio output of 55 watts. This means that the OnePlus TV will offer a punchy bass and loud sound while streaming content or listening to music on the big screen.
Other than that, OnePlus has also confirmed that the OnePlus TV will be exclusively available online via Amazon.in, and across several OnePlus exclusive stores in India.
And, finally, OnePlus TV price in India is expected to be above the Rs 60-70,000 price point. With premium specifications, OnePlus says that the TV won't be cheap but would be substantially lower priced than its competitors from Samsung and Vu. QLED TVs in the market currently retail for about Rs 1.2 lakhs for a 55-inch variant, so a 50% markdown is still a great bargain.
