Amazon and Google patch up: Prime Video now on Chromecast, YouTube back on Fire TV

by KF Team

A couple of months back, Amazon and Google had jointly announced that they would be putting aside their differences and bringing each other's video streaming services to the other's streaming sticks. Thus, now, the official YouTube app has made its way to Amazon Fire TV devices and Prime Video can now be streamed via the Google Chromecast.

With this announcement, the official YouTube app made its way to Amazon's lineup of Fire TV devices after almost a year since the controversy began. Users can now install the YouTube app on the Fire TV Stick and the Fire TV Stick 4K. The app is available underĀ 'Your Apps and Channels' row on the app's interface.

Similarly, Google Chromecast users can now stream Amazon originals and other licensed content on Prime Video, directly onto their big screen displays using the Cast option now available on the Amazon Prime Video app. Not just that, users can also now access Amazon Prime Video's content on Android TV with Chromecast-built in.

The YouTube app is also accessible via Alexa smart voice assistant on Fire TV Stick devices and Fire TV Edition smart TVs.
