Redmi Note 8 is the next smartphone from Chinese smartphone brand - Xiaomi - as confirmed by the company's General Manager, Lu Weibing. This announcement comes just days after Xiaomi claimed that it had sold over 5 million units of the Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7S, and Redmi Note 7 Pro. Within months of launching the super successful Redmi Note 7 series in India, Xiaomi is already preparing to unveil its successor in the Chinese market for now. Additionally, Xiaomi will launch its first smartphone with a 64MP rear camera next week, which might just be the Redmi Note 8.
This is the first time that Xiaomi has confirmed the presence of an upcoming Redmi Note 8. With this, all rumours to the smartphone were put to rest by the company. However, apart from the moniker, there's nothing else that Redmi has announced about the smartphone.
The company has, separately, also confirmed that it will be unveiling its first phone with a 64MP rear camera sensor. Thus, if you join the dots, you could assume that the Redmi Note 8 might just be the first smartphone to achieve this mean feat. Additionally, Xiaomi recently also confirmed that it will be first to launch a phone with the Mediatek Helio G90T SoC, which could be the Redmi Note 8.
Other than that, no other speculation around the Redmi Note 8 is out yet, including the design of the smartphone. We will have to wait atleast until August 7 to see if any more details of the Redmi Note 8 are revealed by the phone maker.
