Tata Sky plans have finally been revised by the DTH operator in accordance with the new TRAI guidelines which mandate the clauses of "freedom of choice" and "direct control" to customers on their entertainment expenses.
These new guidelines, effective from February 1, 2019, will allow users to select channels as per individual preferences and pay for only those that they watch. Tata Sky has released the latest Tata Sky new DTH plans 2019 list. Check it out.
Tata Sky has revealed individual channel pricing, including free and premium channels. These include FTA Basic pack, ALC channels, Broadcaster packs, and also customised Tata Sky channel packs.
In compliance with the latest TRAI guidelines, Tata Sky will offer 100 channels as FTA or free-to-air, included in the base Rs. 153 fee (inclusive of taxes). Over and above that, most other SD and HD channels can be purchased separately at different price points, all inclusive of tax. You can find an extensive price list here.
Next, we have common packs from broadcasters including Discovery, Disney, ETV, NDTV, Sony, Star, and more. For a complete list of pricing and information on that, you can check out this PDF document.
And, finally, Tata Sky has curated its own set of channel packs which include Hindi Lite, Hindi Basic, Family Kids, Family Sports, Premium Sports English, and more across preferences and categories. Here's a list for checking details on that.
Much like other DTH operators, Tata Sky Network Capacity Fee has been announced. Rs.153 will be charged for the first 100 channels, inclusive of all taxes. Rs. 23 will be charged for every slab of 25 additional channels, inclusive of all taxes.
One HD channel shall be treated equal to two SD channels for the purpose of calculating number of channels within the distribution network capacity subscribed.
