Videocon D2H plans have been revised by the DTH operator in accordance with new TRAI guidelines that mandate "freedom of choice" to consumers giving them "direct control" on their monthly entertainment bill.
The new guidelines allow users to select their channels on an individual basis and pay for only those that they watch. Videocon D2H has released its updated list with Videocon D2H new package 2019. Let's have a look.
Videocon D2H individual channel pricing has been revealed by the Essel Group-owned DTH service provider. A lot of the SD (Standard Definition) channels are available free of cost, while all of the HD (High Definition) ones have varying price tags.
Starting with paid SD channels, popular GEC options including Star Plus, ZEE TV, Colors, and SAB TV are priced at Rs. 19; and sports channels like Sony Six and Star Sports 1 are available at Rs. 19, while Star Sports 2 and Sony ESPN are available at Rs. 6 and Rs. 5, respectively. Most news channels are free, however, India Today has a price tag of Re. 1, Mirror Now is priced at Rs. 2, and NDTV 24X7 can be bought for Rs. 3 a month.
The pricing for individual Videocon D2H channels ranges from Rs. 0.25 to Rs. 19, taxes extra as applicable. The list also includes pricing information for channels in regional languages including Assamese, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil, and Urdu. To make things simpler, the operator has introduced Videocon D2H packs that list out broadcaster bouquets.
These bouquets are available from broadcasters including ABP News, Times Group, Discovery, Sony Pictures, Sun TV, TV18, and Zee Entertainment. Star Networks' packs, like Star Value pack, are currently not part of the Videocon D2H offers list. Check out all bouquets here.
Network Capacity Fee (NCF) for the first 100 channels is Rs. 130. For every additional slab of 25 channels, Rs. 20 will be charged if number of channels is 15 or more. And, Re. 1 per channel will be charged if the number of channels is less than 15.
One HD channel shall be treated equal to two SD channels for the purpose of calculating number of channels within the distribution network capacity subscribed. Standard lock-in period is 30 days, while Sports channel lock-in period is set at 60 days.
